Application fees
The cost of the visa will be NZD $3,000 for most applicants and NZD $2,450 for applicants applying from Pacific, plus a levy of NZD $100. After 3 years, there is a processing fee for the third-year health check.
Benefits of the Visa
People can apply for the visa twice, allowing up to 10 years stay in New Zealand with their families if they meet the requirements. This is big improvement on the 6 months maximum stay on visitor visas.
Final Thoughts
The Parent Boost visa is an exciting opportunity for those looking to stay longer periods in New Zealand with their families. The visa will allow families to reunite and connect with loved ones. The limitations will be around sponsor income. We can help check whether you meet eligibility and requirements. Residence remains a separate application. Those who don’t meet sponsorship can still apply for 3 year parent visitor visa for 6 month visits.
