Pacific Legal has been delighted to provide immigration services Tara Iti in the development of two world class golf courses at Te Arai Links at Mangawhai, north of Auckland.

In the midst of the Covid border closure in 2020, we successfully obtained exemptions to allow the course designer and shapers to enter New Zealand.
When we started there was no defined process for exceptions. They were determined case-by-case. The approval recognised the inherent value of golf tourism and this particular investment by Ric Kayne.
The shapers and their families arrived to a very locked-down country, but the critical window to commence construction was met.

Director Richard Small and senior Associate Diana Bell have continued to work with the team at Tara Iti throughout the life of the project. We have secured visas for key people in the project, in many cases accompanied by their families, for long stints in New Zealand. There were various challenges along the way as Covid swept the shift globe: Passports, medical reports and other key documents were delayed by local lockdowns and border closures. Gradually the restrictions ease and we continue to assist in obtaining visas for other staff for the two courses, the associated accommodation and eateries. We were delighted to hear of the completion of the project in 2023.

We are grateful for Tara Iti’s confidence in our services. It is a pleasure working with their team and we wish them all the best in future.

Richard and Diana between them have decades of experience in all areas of business migration and work visas. We have excellent working relationships with senior immigration New Zealand management.
